This is the protocol and software solution that’s used for the Crew to connect from their physical workstations to our Cloud environment. VPN access allows remote connectivity into the Cloud enviroment, but has limited speed and bandwidth due to the encryption and distance. The VDI method, which leverages VMWare Horizon View, provides low latency connectivity to hosted resources, providing faster access to shared storage, as well as dedicated hosted bandwidth.

Entry level workstations that enable folder browsing, internet access, and access to applications. Also enables secure access to shared Data IO/Review workstations if applicable.

Virtual workstation with high speed file access and robust internet bandwidth, enabling fast data ingest and delivery workflows. This can be a shared workstation for the Crew members.

Primary Production Storage is a high performance file system that delivers up to 10GB / s of sustained bandwidth for mixed read and write workloads. This is an Enterprise class, SSD based solution with high availability and data protection built in. This filesystem is required to enable our automated Shotgun Studio Workflow capabilities and the Vendor Delivery System. We leverage it’s unique policy engine and API’s to facilitate our event triggers.

Nearline Storage is a secondary tier of capacity to ensure the Primary Production Storage is leveraged for high bandwidth workloads, like file playback. The Filesystem intelligently tiers data between the primary and nearline storage, without any user interaction, enabling flexible scale and performance options.

We will apply our protection policies, and manage the back-up process. Additionally, we tier all data to a cloud archive for incresed resiliency.
